Having moved to Beckley, East Sussex, as a family in 2002 we constructed outdoor kennels for our own, family and friends dogs on our 45 acre farm. Due to our experience we were soon being recommended to all and reached full capacity after just 2 summers.
The outdoor kennels worked well throughout the summer months but due to being victims of our own success we set about designing and building a new indoor kennel block.
Being involved in the construction industry was a huge help and as a family Beckley Boarding Kennels opened its doors in January 2011.
This gave us the extra space and comfort we needed to improve our business. The kennels are now run between Maria (Mother) and Myself (Son) with our 5 staff members who all strive in keeping the fantastic reputation that we have.
Beckley Boarding Kennels provide well ventilated, indoor heated sleeping quarters with full double glazed glass doors keeping your pets in full view of other dogs and our staff making their stay stimulating and enjoyable. These indoor quarters or cubicles, lead out to their very own outdoor sheltered run in full view of the garden. With 45 acres at our disposal your loved pet will go home tired and satisfied having been walked twice daily.
This is maybe more than most kennels offer but we have found that a tired dog is less restless and more content with this arrangement. For the more sociable boarders we allow playtime in a well fenced paddock. All playtime is fully supervised by one or two staff members depending on the amount of dogs running loose. It is the perfect place for your pet to exhaust themselves. This is not very common amongst other kennels due to some dogs having disagreements, however, we have found this set up to improve a dogs stay having been allowed to really burn off some energy. After a day of activity I am confident that your pet will sleep well but should they require any special love & attention the staff will be happy to oblige.
Due to the requirements of each pet as an individual we can adapt our routine to suit. If you feel that you’re pet needs a special routine then please let the staff know on registration at the kennels.
